All you 308 shooters out there: What kind of groups are you getting at 500 yards? I'm working on loads for the 175g SMK. Only have a 20" barrel and a 6x scope right now . What are your best?

Personally I would consider anything under 5" to be pretty good for a hunting rifle. When you get to 500 yards it has alot more to do with reading wind and knowing your load than the rifle. For a 6x scope and a 20inch barrel, I would think your are doing good if you can consistently hit a pie plate. As for my personal best I have done 2.5inches, but that was a Palma rifle with a 30inch barrel, RPA Quadlock action, and a Weaver T-Series 36X scope.

175 Sierra (bare, no moly) 42.0 - 42.5 grains IMR4064 Lake City Match brass, Win LR primer 2.825" - 2.845" (depending on which of my rifles) It's pretty much replaced all other .308 loads for me. Works from 200 offhand all the way back to 1000. One load for all stages. Redial
