After finding that my Barnes X bullets in .366 have a variance of around 7 thou when measured from base to tip, I have realised that I have been wasting my time trying to determine my bullet seating depth based on COL. So what bullet comparitors do you recommend? I have a stony point one for my .308 and .223, but I don't think they do it in .366.. Any others that are recommended? Regards, Pete

Pete, The cheap way of doing this is to use a smaller comparator which bears on the ogive just a bit further up - try your 308 one. I used a 22 on my 243 with good effect. 7thou on a 9.3 is not much me thinks - the copper fouling will be more than that after 3 shots!

Just drill out a seating stem so that it touches the bullet on as large a part of it's diameter as possible. This way they will be seated to a depth similar to how they will engage the lands. Join the NRA

Soney Point make a .35 cal insert, that would put you in the ball park.
