Hay out there, I know all of you that have an M1 have gotten older mixed surplus ammo. I myself have a pile. Ive collected for a while all once fired, now im looking at it for reloading, chucked the burden primed and overly dented or destroyed and I am left with diffrent lots by head stamp ...ie year so here it is how old is too old to even consider and what do you do with the ones that come out of the tumbler with lets say water marks. or well thay have rust spots from long term storage eather by me or by say uncle sam. Is there anny way to salvage them or toss the lot. I was thinking of droping them into some hoppies #9 for a while and see if it ate it away. well thanks for the input

As far as I know, age doesn't do anything bad to brass. Work hardening does however. My advice is to use it. Check it out for length and trim if necessary, then chamfer the mouth and go for it!!! Water marks don't hurt it, Don

I've been using LC 43 for years, and it works quite well. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

Found some of the old 1942 Lake city 30/06 brass worked the best in one 30/06 I had. Reformed them to shoot in my 7.7 Jap. Still going!
