Hello, I'll be reloading for a 300WM Encore, using RE22, 190MKs, anyone got any starting suggestions for this combo? Thanks, Jay

This is from Steve's pages. I shot 75.5gr. using RL22 and Fed 215M primers last week end, with no pressure signs at all.

I had so-so results with RL22 and 190MK's. Actually, I used Hornadys 190gr's. Try 74-75gr. to start. 76gr. would be close.
sakofan....

Sierra shows 72.7 grs of RE 22 as maximum in the 300 WM with the 190 MK.

Thanks Mark and Savage99, What does Sierra have for an accuracy load? Jay

H-1000 may be a good powder to work with too. IMR 7828 is OK...sakofan....

Sierra shows 65.8 grs of RE 22 in #5 for 2700 to start with that bullet.

There should be data on Alliants site for the 200 gr bullet for max.

I load up two cartridges with each load and write on them with a marking pen what the load is.

Jay,

The load is right in between the max and min! While it's true that I did not type RE22 again nor did I list the cartridge nor the bullet or the primer and not even the LOA that indeed is the powder I referenced the load from.

Since every gun is an individual the loads may or may not be maximum in your rifle. It's winter now on top of that. Sure enough someone will shoot a 75 gr load next July after leaving the ammo in the car where it's been 103F all day and the case will stick.

Jay, this load appears to be too hot for Savage 99, and may be too hot for you as well. I wouldnt want to steer you wrong, so go with the Sierra recommendation to start.

I have shot a bunch of 190gr.s with more than 75gr.s of RL22, and had no ill effects. Your milage may vary..sakofan..

Loadyourown.com shows alot of loads down around 70gr.s as well.

Jay - No, I mean, is the caliber a 300 W'by or 300 Win, or, did you already say what it was in there somewhere?
