ADI powders from Australia - are they good, bad, no different? Where can I buy some? I'm especially interested in ADI AR2218. Anybody know a source?

The following smokeless powders are manufactured for Hodgdon Powder Company by ADI, Ltd.: H4227® H50BMG ® H4895® H4831® H4198 ® H4831SC ® VARGET® H1000® H4350® RETUMBO® Apparently the source is Hodgdon powder company.

You've probably already got some - many are the same powders as hodgdon uses. different numbers and names, but same powders, same plant, etc... check with the guys over at nitroexpress for specifics.

Is Retumbo AR2218? Seems like a good bet.

I've answered my own questions by calling IMR/Hodgdon - the folks who have exclusive distrubution rights for selling ADI powders in the USA. You can't buy ADI-labeled powder in the USA legally. Retumbo = ADI AR2225. H50BMG = ADI AR2218.

ADI website You might find this page helpful. As best I can tell, most (but not all) of the Hodgden powders are simply relabelled ADI. The ones that I'm fairly certain of are: 2207 = 4198 2219 = 322 BM2 = Benchmark 2206H = 4895 2208 = Varget 2213SC = 4831 2217 = 1000 2225 = Retumbo

jb747, I believe you're right on, and IMR/Hodgdon freely admits to it. Regards, AIU
