Have mostly experience with Dillon powder measures on progressive presses, namely Dillon 450, 550, 650, and 1050 presses. But see where some folks are mounting Hornady and RCBS powder measures on the Dillon presses for better reliability especially with fine ball powders. Any experiences to share ? Especially about smoothness of operation. Hammer

The Hornady case activated Lock-n-load measure works much better than the Dillon measure. I restrict my dillon measures to ball powders or fine flake pistol powders. The Hornady does a great job on small stick powders like Varget. I wouldn't use any case activated measure on the big stick powders. JCN

I have used 2 Dillon 550 presses for several years I load mostly 231 (HP38) with them. When I load for rifles I use an old Redding powder charger and weigh every charge. I did have a C&H auto champ I used the Dillon charger. I will have to look into using a different charger on my Dillon it sounds like an interesting idea. Opinions on what works best from your post will be helpfull. Swede44mag
