I would like to start reloading but know nothing about it. I have been to some sites and looked at some of the presses. Which one is good for a new commer? I do not want to go to the top of the line but just want something that is affordable and easy to use. At present I will be reloading only 30-30 and 223 so I don't need an extravagent setup. Any suggestions?

Get a RCBS Rockchucker master reloading kit it has everything you need except dies and components it includes a Speer reloading manual. If you want to move up to a progressive press later or simply decide you dont want to reload you will have no trouble selling this outfit.Midway has them for about $229 probably cant beat that price.

If you are looking at starting out affordably, the lee Anniversary kit can't be beat, you can get the kit and a set of dies for under $100, heck with lee RGB dies, you should be able to get set up for 30/30 and .223 for under $100. Lots of folks like to bash lee stuff, because it is inexspensive, but I and many others have reloaded thousands upon thousands of quality accurate ammunition with lee equipment.

But, before you buy the equipment, get a reloading manual to familiarize yourself with what is involved. Speer, Lymann and Lee offer very good manuals that cover all aspects of reloading.

I started with an RCBS Partner press nearly 15 years ago and it's still going strong, I think you can still buy them in a kit with all the things you need to get started except the dies. I'll also second PaulH's comment about Lee products, their products may be cheap, but none of them have proven nasty for me. Value for money wise, the Lee Anniversary kit is probably the way to go. First step however is to read a good reloading manual and go from there.
