Have you considered primer failure? ------------------

Sorry, but Palmisano beat you to it (sorta). Details are vague, but check out "The History of the PPC" in the Dec 2000 issue of Precision Shooting.

I would say,"strike that and reverse it". Thicker walls up front,so as to promote reliable ignition,as Mr.ricciardelli mentions. Myself,I'm partial to a Marlin 39A and CB caps................

Lou's version is much more sedate,in it's severity. I anxiously await it's mainstream unveiling.........

I really am not concerned who thought of it first. Pamisano is not making a case for my .243 right now. It would be fun to experiment with the loads. Primer failure? Maybe. Lets try it!

The idea to reverse was posted just as I typed the above. OK but I can't see how the case could be drawn from one piece. Cartridges have been made with front ignition so I don't see much of a problem with a flash hole half that length. I have made some cases on the lathe out of brass. Maybe I will try it.

Basic brass used to be available in straight cylinder form. I could drop a piece of steel or brass into the case and run it into the form dies to make a case. What did Lou Pamisano write?

Thanks Lee, I don't claim any original idea. It's just an idea to be able to turn a larger cartridge into a small one at will. It might be cool to be able to shoot ".308's" in a .300 Win Mag etc. I like the part best of a low report varmint cartridge. The Hornet's really don't shoot well on average and there are so many .223's now. The easy way seems to be using "basic brass" with a insert.

why dont make a chamber in a piece of brass formed for 308w and use a 7,62*39 or 30us carbine. 223 camber for 22-250r. Make 5 of them to fill a mag.

Cabela's sells a "Multi-Caliber Adaptor." Go to their web (www.cabelas.com) page and follow this path: Storefront > Hunting / Optics > Shooting Accessories > Tactical / Military / Enhancements > You are here: Multi-Caliber Adapters Looks like a piece of steel that you put in your chamber allowing you to shoot a different chambering. They don't offer much of a selection, though. I also wonder if the use of one of these adaptors would leave marks in your gun?
