MRP in Case

When pulling bullets from some unfired brass today, all the loads with MRP were "matted up" and powder would not pour out of the case. I literally had to dig it out. The powder did not look wet but sure stuck to itself and the case. It took an allen wrench to dig it out. These were loaded about 5 and a half yrs ago. Other powders loaded during the same time frame did not exhibit this. Why??
Also, I noted that the Ballistic Tip bullets were much harder to pull, Why??

The MRP loads were probably heavily compressed.

The loads were not compressed at all and were kept in a cool, not cold, room in my house except for a few brief excursions to the range. What a pain to dig all that powder out, and I haven't even started to examine them very closely, something I must do before trying to resize them.
