Can anyone here tell me the max fps I can expect with imr 4350 behind a 195 bullet ?
I really want to shoot it as fast as possiable and still be safe. Would a diffrent powder be recomended ?
I'm shooting it in a K98k.

I'll let you know on Friday. I have 56.5 grains of H414 behind a 200 grain Barnes X. Good groups and no pressure signs. Long throat on this rifle...

Both H414 and IMR 4350 are just a little on the slow side for the 8X57, but you can get respectable, safe performance with either if loading a heavy bullet like the 195 to 200 grain. You could start around 52 grains of 4350, and maybe increase it a little. I think 56.5 might be on the hot side if you don't have a long throat. I use 55.7 grains of IMR 4350 in an 8X60RS, which has a trifle more powder capacity than the 8X57. I get 2620 feet per second in mine, and pressures are as high as I can use in my gun.

I have a very long throated Brno 21M and a long 06 lenth magazine..I get very fast velocities with H414 and RL-15 with 185, 200 and 250 gr. bullets, but I doubt that they would work in just any 8x57 because the long throat in effect improves one about the same as blowing out the shoulder. I can seat a 250 Woodleigh to below the cannalure and get nearly 2500 FPS. Actually I can beat the 8mm-06 with these powders. Same with the Brno 22F in 7x57,
