Hi guys,

Is it true to assume that given a 7 mm and 30 cal projectile of a similar BC that there respective lengths will also be similar?

Case in point: A 7mm 162gr Hornady SST has a BC of .550 and a .30 cal 185gr Berger hunting VLD has a BC of .549.

Cheers,

Michael.

She was only the Fish Mongers daughter. But she lay on the slab and said 'fillet'

Your Hornady is 1.4" the Berger is 1.378" which are darn close. However for example the Barnes 7mm 168 has a BC of .55 but it is 1.592"

As usual just my $.02

IIRC, bullet weight is also a factor in BC.
