I need some good data for a 7mm-08 using a 154 gr Hornady bullet. I have Varget, RL15, H-4350, IMR 4320, RL-19... Trying to work up a good moose load. I thought about a 175gr bullet but I have always been impressed with the 154gr bullet. I think it is the ideal bullet for the 7mm... Thanks for any input on this. Sorry I can't help with data for a 154 in the 7-08 I have always thought the 140 grn bullet was the king of the 7-08 and in that case I use Varget/43 grns ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

I'd personally use a 175 grain bullet here.....the 7mm-08 will handle it fine. H-414, Varget, Rl-19 are all fine powders for it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." For the 7x57's, H-414 provides good accuracy here. Cases are close in capacity. Don

I had better luck with slower powders, R19 or H4350, over faster ones like Varget or 4064 when I played with 154 gr Hornadies in my 708. I found them very accurate, but I hunt deer not moose or elk and dropped them after while for the 139-140 gr bullets. This was very limited experamenting and you might find different. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction? I got good accuracy with the Hdy 154 Grn RN in both of my 7mm-08's (Rem Mtn LSS & a 7600) using H414. Dark squares are 1/2", light squares 1/4" firstshot ----------------------------- Make your first shot count!
