with the 120 and 125 grainers.... 40 grains of W 748 has shown to be very accurate.... RL 15, IMR 4064, IMr 4895, IMR 3031, H 380, H 414, W 760 are all good powders for the 100 to 125 grain bullets....the case is just a tad small to get full advantage of slower powders in my experiences.... especially in Remingtons with their short throats... IMR 4064 is my overall.. go to powder... with the 260 for 125 grain bullets and under.... I use the W748 load in my VLS target rifle with 120 grain Match Kings and Ballistic Tips.. it is the first one listed in Sierras manual, I tried it and it worked very well.. all the way out to 600 yds, in informal competition shoots... good luck... cheers seafire

With 120 Ballistic tips work up to 45gr IMR-4350. It's hot but groups well. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor

I like H4350 or RL19 under 120-129gr bullets. IMR48131 & IMR7828ssc are also great performers. I like the slower powders for 100% density loads, usually exc. accuracy w/ slightly higher vel. @ lower pressures than the med. fast powders. When you drop to the 100gr, RL15, IMR4064 & VV150 are tops. I hate to disagree we seafire, but I think the .260 handles med. to slower powders well w/ heavier bullets (120gr & up).
