Has anyone worked up loads using Lil'Gun and 30-35gr Berger MEF's or Calhoon DHP bullets for the .22 Hornet? Thanks

Still using Accurate Arms 1680 here in my Brno circa 1949. The Calhouns will shoot into about .6 MOA at 100 yards. But I am using the 46 grain version. I like what I see though.

I spoke to James (Jim) Calhoon some time ago and he recommended H110 over Lil'Gun for the 30gr DBL HP bullets. I loaded 14.0gr H110, CCI small pistol primers, COL 1.760" in a neck sized Rem Cases with no crimp - it was a sub MOA load. Lower charges of H110 were not as accurate. The case was nearly full of powder and the max load is given as 14.2gr. A case full of Lil'gun is about 14gr, but I would think H110 would give a higher velocity for the same amount of powder - without being compressed. I might be wrong! Speer quote 12.8gr of H110 with their 33gr TNT at 3229fps while 14.0C of lil'Gun gave 3093fps. HTH Regards.... .....Titan
