Hey guys I was reloading some 9mm rounds and got carried away and over powdered them. I need to know if I did to much or if I need to pull them. Here's the load data...

Remington casings
CCI #500 Small pistol Primers
124Gr Remington Hollow points (link) - Midway USA
Alliant Unique

Normally I would put 4.6gr. but I put 5.1-2 in. My C.O.L is 1.118 and case is .745. What do you guys think? Can I get away with them. These will be shot through a Taurus 24/7.

With most 9mm pistols*, not enough Unique can fit with any 9mm bullets to cause big problems.

* Assuming
1) The chamber wall approaches .1" thick steel.
2) The feed ramp intrudes no more than .180" from the breech face.
3) The brass is modern and in good condition with a web of .16".
4) The ammo is loaded a the SAAMI OAL max of 1.169" or less.

Most pistol powders that lack the speed-density product to seriously overload 9mm, but this list does not include AA#5, HS-6, and 3N37. Those high density-speed product powders can overloaded in 9mm to cause real damage.

Most pistol powders can be used in most 9mm pistols with a 50% powder over load. That does not include peaky powders with sudden erratic increases in pressure. Blue Dot is a peaky powder but lacks density. AA#5 is peaky and dense. Lookout for AA#5 in 9mm.
