Maddog, hogdon has load data on th 338RUM at their website. I have a 338 RUM in Stainless Fluted Sendero (26" barrel). I chrono'd the factory 250 gr swift A-Frames. Can't find the notes but I recall that they averaged 20 to 25 fps below factory stats. I have loaded both Barnes X Bullets and Nosler Ballistic tips. ). At one hundred yards, in this factory rifle (Rem Sendero)the ballistic tips will group three shots under one inch ,and about 2" at 300 yds. The 180 gr. Nosler were my bullet of Choice. As an aside,My two sons and I have made one shot kills on 10 deer inlcuding 2 sikas, one axis and 7 white tails in the last two seasons with Nosler Ballistic Tips). I tried RL 22 and IMR 4350. I liked the 4350 the best. Using Federal 215 Primers and 90 gr. of 4350, with 180gr. Nosler Bal. tip, velocity ranged from a low of 3270 to a high of 3306 fps. At a velocity of 3270 fps, I calculated trajectory to 400 yds with 200 yd. zero at 1.13" high at 100 yds and -2.15" at 250 yds, -5.51" at 300 yds and-16.11" at 400 yds. On the bench this rifle will beat you to death. However, I shot three deer with it last season, and did not notice the recoil. Now the results GWB | |||
