You can reload 300 Win Mag for years without that special collet die. I have one and rarely use it. Unless you've got a fat chamber you'll probably never need anything other than regular dies.
Buy some quality 180gr bullets, RL-22 and H-4831, Federal 215M primers and good brass and you'll surely find a load that will shoot well if you gun is up to it...................DJ

Hey jigman

Here is the link to the item you were talking about

http://www.larrywillis.com/

I have never tried it and they don't give a price for it so it must be expensive. I suspect that it will do something to alleviate the problem they talk about.

However, I reload for 7 different 300 win mags and I never ran across any problem with reusing the cases.

Wouldn't worry about it, the 300 win mag is easy to load for using regular dies and if the cases get too hard to chamber (some of mine are on the 6th loading with no problem) then toss them and buy new.

Very easy ctg to load for. I've never seen a 300 Win Mag that did not shoot really well with 75 to 76 grains of RL-22 and Nosler 180gr Partition bullets. I just love my Sendero!!

jigman586,
First welcome to AR and the great pasttime of reloading! beer
Do yourself a couple of favors:
get a few reloading manuals,
read them,
buy "decent" equipment,
set-up a spot that will work for you,
if you know someone who does relaod ask to go through the steps with them,
ask if you don't know.

I am sure others here will add to the list. Something else I would like you to consider if you only are using one gun for one round, Neck Size.

Agree, RL22 , and no you will not need anything but the resizing die. My gun really likes the 180 Hornaday Interbond bullets but also shoots plain old interlocks really well. I am pushing dozen or more reloads on my cases but I shoot only 74.3 grains. If you use max loads cases will grow as much as .010" per load wich dcreases case life. However, whatever you gun likes is what you should load to. Have fun

I'd have to disagree on one thing DJ said and thats on using a 215M primer, I believe one could get lower standard deviation with a WLR or 210M primer. Even Alliant doesn't suggest using it(215M) with RE22, though they do with RE25.

Yes, a good 180 grain bullet like a Hornady and 75.5grs. RE22 with a WLR primer will do just fine, or at least it has for my reloads. Jay
