Hi Folks, is it possible to shoot 7mm Rem cartridges from a 7 mm Wby? It seemed to me that the brass is slightly different (1mm in some lengths). Advice greatly appreciated thanks CDR

Ken Howell's book talks about forming 7 mm Wby brass from .300 Win Mag and .300 H&H brass using RCBS form and trim dies, then fireforming with inert filler. I wouldn't try fireforming 7 mm Rem Mag _______________________

You only reference the 7mm Rem. There are actually (2) 7mm rem cartridges. If your life depended on it, you could shoot 7 mm Rem Mag cartridges in a 7 mm Weatherby mag, but otherwise don't try it. If the cost of brass or cartridges is your concern, there are much better ways to go at it.

Depending on how precise your chamber is cut, I doubt the 7RM fits in the Wby chamber. Shoulder dims say the 7RM is 0.025" longer. I don't think I would want to try a full factory load, even if it would fit. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

the weatherby might fit a 7 rem mag but i doubt it would work the other way. I make brass for the 257 out of 270 weatherby and it actually moves the shoulder back.
