I just loaded up another 50 rounds of 270win using R-P brass, 56.2 of H4350, Fed 210M primers, and 130grain TSX. This has been a .5 MOA load in my Rem 700 in the past. I think it's on the hot side but it works.

I bought a can of H4350 for reloading my own Ruger M-77 MKII in .270 Winchester. I am using 130 gr. SPBT Sierra bullets and plan to start at either 52.5 grains or 53.0 grains in Remington cases. I have been using IMR-4350 but was not able to locate any and the store was out of this powder. My load using IMR-4350 with a 130 grainer is 53.5 grains. Just wondering if the two 4350 powder brands are the same or simular? David

Slatts, you are right, that is a pretty hot load. The latest version of the Barnes Reloading Manual (#4) shows 56 grains of IMR 4350 as maximum with the 130 TSX. Velocity given is 3156 fps. DRS, the two powders IMR 4350 and H 4350 ARE very similar, but not the same. They have very close burning rates and perform much the same, BUT which one will work better for you is something that you and your gun will have to determine. At the 53.5 grain loading you are using you should not have a problem substituting H 4350 for IMR 4350. Interesting that you use that load, it is exactly what I load in a 270 Winchester except I use the Sierra Pro Hunter 130 grain. You will find differences in different reloading manuals as to which powder you can use the most of in any given cartridge. For the 270 Winchester using the 130 TSX Barnes shows the following: IMR 4350 56 grains MAX for 3156 fps H 4350 55 grains MAX for 3133 fps For the 270 Winchester using the 130 grain bullets Hornady shows the following: IMR 4350 54.6 grains MAX for 3000 fps H 4350 55.3 grains MAX for 3000 fps The latest Sierra manual does not show H 4350 loads for the 130 grain bullets, but shows 55 grains MAX with IMR 4350 for 3100 fps. I also use Sierra 130 gr. BTSP in my Ruger .270. The 53.5 grs seem to give me the best accuracy. David

I'm using 53.5 gr. H4350 and 135 gr. Matchkings in my Cooper. I'm getting .4 MOA accuracy on paper at 550 yards. This load worked well on marmots last summer out to 749 yards. Next year's goal is to break 800. This load is chrono'ing at 2910 fps, SD 10.

Hodgdon'e own data for the TSX gives 55.5gr as the max load: 3,111fps & 63.500psi.

That's the load I'm using for elk. I'm getting MOA at 550 yards with it. I suppose with a little more work-seating depth testing-it will probably tighten up a bit. That will be a project for next spring.
