Bought my new CED M2 Chrono last August 2009. It's worked fine up until today. I must have put 40 rounds over it. I've chrono'd for over 25 years so I understand what's needed to get them to work. Called their CS line and they had me perform the flashlight test; NADA, nothing but 0000. So they had me drop in the mail to them.

Here is my question. Anyone have any prior CS experience with them? They said it should not take too long to check it out and repair/replace the offending part/s.

I have the earlier model, I expect it's M1.

I was having troubles with it, sent it back, they tested it in the Pennsylvania winter, and returned it with a long, type written letter.

They went to some trouble to tell me it was ok.

While these are good Chronos...apparently, they don't work in overcast.

One of my fellow club members has the same (later) model you do, and it doesn't work in overcast.

I really like mine--I bought it used--and I like the readout.

But not working in overcast is a serious limitation.

Doesn't work in overcast???? Wow! I've always been under the impression that chronographs always worked best in overcast. That's a Bass Ackwards machine.

I called them about my M1 not always picking up a shot in the overcast. They told me use the diffuser arms without the diffuser screens and it works great. Now I only use the diffuser screens in bright sunlight.

I have the M2 and it's the same.
