Hello, Has anyone ever had to anneal cases? I have a 6.5 x .257 on a Jap action that will split case necks almost everytime even after the initial loading with brand new .257 Roberts brass. I was thinking that annealing the cases might help this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Randy

Yep, I even started aneling my new WW brass before I even load it once, after haveing brand new Winchester brass crack and split at the necks after 1 load. Aneling works great.
I do my norma after about 4 loadings, lapua again after 4,5 or so. Once you get you aneling process you like down, its fast and easy and fun, takes about 3-5 min to do 20 pieces

Annealing will usually help with that problem as long as the neck of the chamber isn't TOO oversize and that's what makes the necks split....the Hornady annealing kit is nice and check the www.benchrest.com site and search for the link to annealing...they have lots of information on the details of annealing and with a electric screwdriver/slow drill and torch with temp paint the time goes quickly for a batch of cases and consistant results ....good luck and good shooting-loading with long lasting cases!!
