I have seated several hundred bullets about two red hairs too deep for reliable feeding in my AR-15. The problem is not in the magazine; we determined that out in the desert the other day. I loaded up a few more with the bullet out about 0.020 inches from the no-loaders and they slap in just fine. Can I just knock the bullets out with my kinetic puller and push them back down to the right point?

The point of the bullet slams into the barrel/receiver just a red hair below the feed ramps. The bullet gets pushed back and won't feed at all. I loaded one up that was just .020 longer and it went right in.

I've begun to pull them with a collet puller. I pull them up about 30/1000 above the cannelure. Some are so tight the puller puts a groove in them. I tried five or six with my kinetic puller, but that was too time-consuming. And it gets loose after a few raps. What a bummer. I have about 300 to do...

If I read this correctly, you are using the puller to adjust the depth. You may find it easier to pull them completely and then reseat them. The other may be a bit tedious.

Don't get lazy, just pull the bullets, pour out the powder, take out the primer pin in you die and resize the case again, then replace your powder and bullet...

This way you will get it right. ANYTHING worth doing is worth doing right.

Yes. If not crimped, quite easy to do, just one knock should do it. Been there, too.

Just wear glasses.

I've used a fine felt tip marker and put a line on the bullet at the end of the case neck and put the shell in my kinetic puller. A couple of just right raps and you can see the bullet has moved about a 1/16". Put back in seating die set to right length.

I am with ray having tried to save time with improperly seated bullets before. It is easyier just to pull them and reisize and reseat. I'll say when just trying to pull them a bit you get 30 percent to come out all the way anyway.

What I'm doing is pulling them up above the cannelure to a point that I know is more than enough to then push them back to down to the right point. I then test them for fit into a 20-round magazine with not more than two RCH clearance. I am debating as to whether to crimp them or not. I probably will after I determine that the rounds feed in my various ARs...
