The book that you get with a C&R license details all the curios. Some of them are a LOT more recent than 50 years. Interesting reading.

Relics are anything that are 50+ years old. An antique is anything made before January 1, 1899. Antiques are NOT firearms.

Some sellers of powder and primers honor C&R licenses. Who you give discounts to is just a business decision and has nothing to do, really, with having this license.

Some sellers of guns will not ship a relic to a C&R license holder. Don't want to make a decision that turns out to be wrong.

Some sellers who deal a lot with relics state clearly that they are NOT guaranteeing that a gun is a relic and if it turns out that they should not have shipped it to you that you are the one legally at fault. This, of course, is bullshit but I guess it makes them feel safer.

One of may things about C&R licenses that I do not understand is how it affects legal transfers of machine guns. If you buy a machine gun that is unquestionable over 50 years old, can the machine gun dealer ship it directly to a C&R license holder?

haveing a C&R licence is very cool. I love having mine, Midway gives me one hell of a discount, so good infact that noone on the internet can touch what they sell to me for. I also really enjoy being able to have a milsurp or gun over 50 yrs old shipped directly to my house, this also includes handguns. I would have to say one transaction essiantially payed for the cost of the licence, and I have saved $100's on my midway purchases.

Places like Midway USA give discounts to holders of FFLs. All you have to do is to send them a copy of the license and you get dealer pricing. I guess about 90% or more of my shooting stuff comes from Midway mainly due to the discount.

+1 on that. That alone is reason to get it. Plus, picking up the odd military rifle is nice.

Really! Brownell's, Midway and Huntington are three that, to my knowledge, give crufflers the dealer discount. I save more than the cost of the license on reloading supplies, alone. It's amazing.

Equally amazing is having the Post Office deliver a box with a perfectly good, functional hunting rifle to your door . . . and leave it on the front porch, for Chrissakes!!! I had a few low-key but choice words with my mail carrier about that one, I can tell you.

UPS left one on the front porch for me with the "Adult Signature Required" sticker in plain sight!

Hawk,
Well worth getting, for all the reasons above.
Cheers,
