Be gone a month so will have plenty of time to stop. Anyone know some good places to purchase some powder along the way? I will get a couple tubs. thumb

You could try in Saltlake at sportsmans warehouse depending on powder $15.00 what do you pay at local stores. I have seen some scary prices back east.Just wondering if it was coming my way.I have read in some locales you cant buy powder atless than 25.00 per lb.Is this true?

There may be a hazard law on interstate transportation. I know that I cannot transport over four gallons of some fuel improvers with out a CDL.

I would not do it. Just have it shipped.

Powder Valley has good deals.

Smiler$15.00 is cheap compared to alot of places. Around here it is $20.00. So was looking for some place to pick up some for less. The UN and thier buddies in politics want to have the powder to come to $100.00 a pound with a special one time a year buying. They couldn't stop the guns so they worke don the powder. Also some factory rifle manufactors worked with them as they wante their own ammo sold

I second the Sportsmans Warehouse. I know there are a few in Texas so you don't have to cruise into Salt Lake to find one. We have one 200 miles north or where I live, but when I have to go up to Portland ( Oregon) I always stop at the one in Portland or the one in Salem OR.

As far as powder, they have anything you could want in IMR, Hodgdon, Winchester and Alliant Powders.
I quit farting around and buy my IMR powders in 8 lb kegs for about $110.00 and the Alliant powders in the 5 lb jugs for about $71. for 5 lbs of Blue Dot and $80 for 5 lbs of RL 7 and Rl 15.

All I can tell ya is if you are really into hunting and fishing etc, you'd better bring your check book or credit card, and have a lot of empty room in the trunk before you get there....

SmilerTCCI in Phoenix, deals in surplus powders.

J& G in Prescott still has a lot of the cheap Turk 8mm ammo. When watching a movie or just T.V. I pull bullets and salvage the bullets and the flake powder.

Maybe you think I'm a flake but I've been using this powder for about two years and have some really great results.I treat it like something between 4198 & 3031. For $80.00 and your labor(whatever that's worth) you get 1400 bullets 9.2 pounds of powder, and a bunch of primed cases you can refill with the loads of your choice, should you have and old Mauser you don,t mind scrubing out.Oh! they also have old Mausers they will sell you if you have a C&R license. thumb homerroger

Denver has two Sportsmen's Warehouse locations, one on the east side off I-225, and one off north I-25.
