I just received a quantity of 357 Mag brass and in sorting it out I noted something different in the appearance of some of the cases. A good bit of this brass was R-P nickel and it had both large and small diameter primers! I do not recall ever seeing large primers in the 357 case - how common is this? Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!! 'TrapperP'

Aren't all the 357 Maximum cases made for large size primers?

I have never seen a 357 mag or 357 max case other then for small primers in the 40 plus years of reloading. All mine for both calibers are made to take small size primers. Sounds to me like some one made a mistake when they were made.

http://www.leverguns.com/artic...d_the_literature.htm Apparently, the orginal case used the large pistol primers.
