Anyone ever hear of Scotts 4065 powder? A guy at work gave me about 200 rounds of 30-06 his dad reloaded some time ago. When he resized the brass he did not set the die right and the neck was not sized all the way down to the shoulder makeing it almost impossable for my friend to chamber them. He does not shoot much so he gave them all to me and said I can have them for components. I plan to reload some of them for him but will keep most of them for components. Anyhow they are loaded with a 150 grain bullet and 50 grains of powder. He said the powder is scotts 4065. Now for his loads I am sure useing the 50 grain load will be fine but I am curious as to what the burn rate of this powder is. His uncle who sold them the stuff (he had a shop) said Scotts was bought by Accurate Arms. Don Nelson Sw. PA.

I've heard of it, but never loaded any. On burn chart I have it shows # 171-brigadier 4065/Scot and #170 IMR 4064, so IMR4064 data should be fine.
