I just purchased a new 257 Weatherby mag. This is my first Weatherby so you'll understand my question. When I reload any of my rifles I like to have the rifling kiss the bullet. With the Weatherby I don't believe this is possible (free bore). Is there any good starting point or ending point with regard to the O.A.L.?

With the Weatherby it is a slightly different game. You are going to have some jump. I load my 257 with 110 Accubonds to 3.29".

Touching what? bewildered

I think industry std is 3.25" I have no suggested starting point. The couple I played with I could never reach the lands anyway so I simply set the bullet out as long as possible and went from there.

As usual just my $.02
