I started reload .460 Rowland. It is sometimes very hard to get some powders here, so I would like to try Vectan SP2 with 200 gr Sierra FPJ Match bullets. It should give great velocity. Anybody here who tried this powder in .45 Super or .460 Rowland? What I have found is that absolute maximum charge is 17 gr with CCI 350 primer, 32 mm OAL and it produce out of 5.5" Para Ordnance 501 m/s (1643 fps). I have pistol made by the same gunmaker, who built that Para Ordnance, except mine is built on STI. I will use CCI 300 instead of CCI 350 primers and will start at 12 gr (published as top load for .45 ACP) and go slowly up, measuring velocity and looking for pressure signs. But I have to shorten the OAL, because now the bullet is touching lands and I don't want that. Any comments or advice to that process? Jiri | ||
