I recently picked up a Ruger M77 MkII in 260 Rem and I am ready to start working up loads. I have some 120 gr. and 140 gr. Speer Hot-Cor on hand to try. For powders I have H-4895, H-4350, and H-4831sc. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mark in GA

You probably find H4350 will work well for both bullet wts. H4831sc is great for max. vel. & good accuracy w/ the 140gr. I would save 4895 for 85-100gr. I have a .260ai so I won't give you load info. but the Hodgdon site is a good starter: http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/260rem.php LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

I've come to like the H-414 (Win-760) in cases of this capacity.......it's easy to measure and funnels nicely and just performs well for me. I'm now using it in the 6.5-55, 257 Rob, .243 win, 22-250, 30-06, and will use it in the 260 Rem when it's completed. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I like R19 in mine with 120s and the 129 Hornady SP. H4350 is another real good choice with these bullets. H4831 works with the 140s but I get better accuracy with the lighter bullet weights and don`t play with them much. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction? My favorite .260 does so well with plain old 140 grain Remington Core Lokt factory ammo that I have not begun to seriously develop handloads, it's really embarrassing!! LLS
