I have never used this powder but a friend has bought a 270wsm and wanted me to reload for him. Now when I bought some I noticed that it is probably the weirdest looking powder I have ever used. It is not all consistently ball powder there looks like there is some other types like stick powders.

Load it up. It works great in most 270 WSMs.

I agree, it's the best I've found for my 270WSM. RL22 was accurate but Magpro was equally accurate with more velocity. It is a strange looking powder...

I like blowin' big holes in stuff...

It looks different because they blend
flattened sperical ball powder and round
ball powder. I used in my 12GA fH testing
and earlier 458HE, 458Win, 500cal,
one that is identical visually and performance
wise, the blend I made using 2 parts of
WC-860 surplus and one part AA-2700 or H-380.
The 860 is flattened and other two are round.
I made the blend to get a ball powder to fit
a speed use I needed, before I could get
Magpro. Ed

Magpro is a little strange. In addition to what's been mentioned it's also a little "Sticky". It tends to like to clump together in the powder measure and compressed loads can be a pain to get out of a case if you have to pull a bullet.
That being said it does shoot quite well in the WSM's. I've got a couple WSM's that shoot it extremely well and it was the only powder that allowed me to reach normal WSM velocities with.
IMO it's well worth using in the WSM's and probably others as well......................DJ
