Appealing for any load data for this ( uncommon ? ) cartridge.
Will look at any data but want to develop loads for 180 gn bullets.
Norma has some quite limited published data but something of more scope would help.
Could anyone either supply data or point me in the right direction ?
Many thanks.

"African Medium Game Cartridges" by Pierre van der Walt has a section on the .300 Blaser Magnum, including load data. It is on pages 387-390. I got my copy from Safari Press.

Many thanks for that Dale.
Sadly I don't have a copy of his book, nor do I know anyone with a copy although I'm sure that data would at least provide a great starting point.

I will try to copy the data and get it to you. I am going out of town for a few days so it will be the middle of next week before I can do it.

The following load data for the .300 Blaser Magnum are from "African Medium Game Cartridges" by Pierre van der Walt. I highly recommend this book, and "African Dangerous Game Cartridges" by the same author to anyone who enjoys using some of the less well-known cartridges.

Bullet Weight Propellant Type Min. Load Max. Load Max. Velocity Barrel Length (inches)

220 gr. Accurate MagPro 72.1 gr. 80.1 gr. 2875 fps 24.0
Alliant PPro-4000 65.0 gr. 68.5 gr. 2800 fps 25.0
Hodgdon Retumbo 76.0 gr. 81.0 gr. 2810 fps 24.0
IMR-7828 67.6 gr. 72.2 gr. 2800 fps 26.0
Norma MRP 67.0 gr. 73.0 gr. 2763 fps 26.0
Ramshot Magnum 72.8 gr. 80.9 gr. 2868 fps 24.0
Rottweil R-905 66.5 gr. 70.4 gr. 2854 fps 26.0
Sochem S-385 64.0 gr. 69.0 gr. 2654 fps 24.0
Vectan Tub-8000 66.4 gr. 72.5 gr. 2805 fps 24.0
Vihtavuori VN-570 65.3 gr. 75.3 gr. 2733 fps 24.5

200 gr. Accurate MagPro 75.2 gr. 83.6 gr. 3029 fps 24.0
Alliant Rel-22 68.5 gr. 72.5 gr. 2960 fps 24.0
Hodgdon Retumbo 79.0 gr. 84.0 gr. 2962 fps 24.0
IMR-7828 70.6 gr. 75.0 gr. 3000 fps 26.0
Norma MRP 70.0 gr. 73.7 gr. 2923 fps 26.0
Ramshot Magnum 76.0 gr. 84.4 gr. 3011 fps 24.0
Rottweil R-905 67.0 gr. 71.0 gr. 2953 fps 26.0
Sochem S-385 63.7 gr. 68.7 gr. 2720 fps 24.0
Vectan Tub-8000 67.9 gr. 74.1 gr. 2953 fps 24.0
Vihtavuori VN-570 74.7 gr. 81.9 gr. 2923 fps 24.5

It has been a long day and my eyes are getting tired. I will put in the 180 gr and 165 gr. bullet data later. As always, work up to these loads. It sounds like the author worked up these data from .300 Win. Mag. data, as the Blaser has a capacity of about 3.4% more than the .300 Win. Mag.

I spent a lot of time putting these data into neat columns so it would be easy to use, but when I posted it everything went away. I may just photograph the data and e-mail it to you.

Kechutti,
Many thanks for your help.
What little data is out there for this cartridge takes some digging to find. Glad you posted this.
Cheers
