Question on Shipping Ammo

Maybe some of the more knowledgeable here can help. I recently sold my .450-.400 and shipped it via Fed Ex yesterday to Montana. So far, I've been told by US Postal, Fed Ex, and a local gun shop that they will not ship ammo, yet I have had ammo shipped to me from Cabela's, Midway etc. It's 150 rounds of reloads (no primers or powder) and weighs about 25 lbs. How can I get it shipped. Thanks for any help. Mike

UPS and Fedex will accept small arms ammo in appropriate shipping cartons with proper DOT labeling. USP won't accept firearms or ammo at their stores, has to be a Customer Center.
