I just picked up a set of Pacific dies and the prior owner ground the expander ball in the sizer down. Does anyone know if a RCBS, Redding, Forester or Hornady expander ball will fit?

Do you have access to other brands of dies? Pacific looks close in design to RCBS and Hornady. I think I read once that they were the same as Hornady. You could try swapping internals and see if it works.

I have RCBS, Redding and even a set of Forster dies.... but they're all at my camp in another state! And I'm particularly interested if the Hornday expander ball will fit - I like the tapered ball design.

I just found an old thread that stated they were Hornady. Don't know for sure.

I looked at a Pacific sizing die and compared it to other brands I have, and it looks the expander ball looks the same as the Redding sizers. I don't like Hornady dies but do own some and they are completely different than the Pacific and Redding. Dennis Life member NRA

Hornady bought out Pacific a long time ago. Give them a call and they should be able to help. AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.

What did he grind them to, He may have wanted to get a better purchase on the bullet as happens a lot by knowledgeable reloaders, and thats a good thing. Chamber vari and so do dies. ive seen bullets that would spin In a resized case. all you need to do is load a round and see. Other than that expander balls come in a number of sizes from Pacific and in RCBS and others.
