jeffeossorem 742 30-06 pet loads?
i am thinking 130-150gr
new winnie brass (will resize with small base dies)
lee factory crimp
likely blc2 or h4895
22" barrel..
any suggestions on which bullet? i'll be trying the raptors with tips, and really prefer FP bullets if i am going to use a SP..
like gamekings
like deepcurls/gold dots
strongly prefer crimp groove
like hornady SSTs, too
he11, i like most bullets, but want decent accuracy (1.5 moa is fine with me) on my dedicated nighthunting rig (digisight n550)
thanks..

GrumulkinI had a 742 in 308 Win. for awhile & it was pretty accurate. I mostly shot 168 gr. bullets in it. My best 5 shot group with it was about 0.5 in. at 100 yards. I didn't use small base dies for it either.

TJAYI have had good results with 165 gr. Nosler solid base and 49 gr. 4064. 58 gr, H414 shot very well with 150 gr. core-lokts.

richybIm loading 55gr of w760 with a 165gr partition. I just started reloading recently but this load out of my 742 06' carbine is putting up nice groups in the 1" to 1.5" range at 100yds.

This is exactly the same load I shoot in My 742 with the same results! It works quite well.

hm199647 gr. H 4895 behind 150-165 gr. bullet just about matches M2 Ball ammo velocities and usually pretty accurate in most 30-06's. Shot lots of paper and game using that load w/Fed. 210's or 210 match primers.

hm
