CFE-223 in a .338 Federal
This seems like it should be a good fit. Anyone use it? Or does anyone have data?

not in the 338.
but the 308 likes it and the 8 mauser is fine with it [shrug] think the H-335/380 family.
you'll probably end up with a near case full of the stuff so trying a few different types of primers wouldn't hurt anything.

CFE223 is the best powder I've ever used in a .308. It might be a little on the slow side for a .338 Federal, depending on how heavy the bullet, but give it a try.

Agreed^^^

And many people say the same about the .30-06.

I am looking to get max possible velocity out of 185 gr .338 Barnes TSX. Seems like a good possibility for that.

CFE223 has been the go to in my 6.5 Grendel and 308 but I haven't tried it in 338 Federal but 46.5gr of XBR8208 has been magic in mine behind 185 Barnes TTSX.
