After much time googling and reading message boards and re-loading data books on re-loading info for the 450 Mag Express rimless cartridge I can,t find any data pertaining to this cartridge. Can any of you point me to or suggest a good starting load. Thanks.

Since there's no "450Mag Express" cartridge named or mentioned in anything I can research, can you come up with something a little more specific? I'm making a big assumption that if it's a rimless round that it may be the 450 Rigby or 450 Dakota? Both of these rounds are based on the 416 Rigby brass. Lo do they call to me, They bid me take my place among them in the Halls of Valhalla, Where the brave may live forever.

Thanks for the reply. I am looking at the head stamp...450 Mag Express. No cartridge mfg logo or anything else. This is for a large frame revolver made by North American arms back in the eighties...supposedly. Like you, I can find no information on it. Thanks again.

Pharlap, Try singleactions.com, I believe Lee Martin has an article on it there.

Thanks Dan, that's exactly what I was looking for...and more. It seems like a good collectible gun except for the problem with the availability of the ammo...especially when you consider he traded a Glock for it. Thanks again.

The .450 MAg Express was a brainchild of Dick Casull. The firearm was discontinued in 1984. Current retail value for an unfired gun, in the presentation box and with all papers is around $1200. Value decreases rapidly down to $700 if the gun has been fired, or the box, or the papers are missing. Last retail price was $650.
