Im the guy who needed IMR Data for a .300 RUM. Still cant find any. Is there a powder out there that performs the same as IMR 4350?
Looking for direct comparison to Alliant and or Hogdon. (150 gn scirocco and 200 gn Nos.Par.)

Nothing will be exactly the same as IMR 4350, however AA4350 is similar, even if slightly faster. H4350 is slightly slower.Reloader-19 is a bit slower but probably will shoot okay. If you haven't found any load data yet, call Sierra bullets at their toll free #. They have a ballistician there to help you. Of course they like it when you use their bullets, too. Same for Hornady, and Nosler. Hope this helps. Most loading books have a burn-rate chart printed in them somewhere.

As the previous poster said, H 4350 is slightly slower than IMR 4350. Thus, you would use slightly less of the IMR 4350 to get similar velocities and pressures -- my estimation is that the difference would be about 1 grain in 40, so if you are using 40 gr of H 4350, then the corresponding load would be about 39 grains of IMR 4350, or 78 gr of IMR 4350 to 80 gr of H 4350 (but note that this is a rough approximation, and you should start lower and work up).

But, if you are loading for a 300 RUM, why are you trying to use any of the 4350 powders or RL-19? Those powders are a bit too fast for that caliber, so you will almost certainly get better results with slower burning powders such as H 4831, IMR 7828, and RL 22 or RL 25.

IMR-4350 is not really a choice powder for the 300 RUM...actually, the only IMR powder that is suitable is IMR-7828.

I was only using 4350 as a place to start. I thought that 7828 or Rel 22 was the better choice but as yet had no data on these powders. I have recently found them and will be using REL 22 or hogdon 1000. IMR Has no data at all for 300RUM.

I like 7828 but havnt found 300 RUM Data from IMR. Do you know of any??
