I have been using H-414 in my .257 Roberts and 7X57 Mauser with excelent results ! velocity is terific in both rifles and accuracy is great in 1 and very good in the other. I am concidering trying it in my 270 with 130 grain bullets, Barnes likes it with 55 grain max with a 130 grain X bullet on top. Anybody try this powder in a .270? and also would concider it in my .308. ...tj3006

Tanks fo responding gentelmen ! The first powder i tried when I got my rifle bck from the barrel shop was H-4831 SC, It shot poorly, I also used RL-22, and it was much better. I had a little betterluck with the 4831 last time out, and I'll keep playing with it. I am hoping I can get the H-414 to shoot well in my 270,just cause I would start to buy it in bulk if it shoots great in 3 of my rifles, heck come to think of it I have a 280 and a .308 an 2 30,06s too, it might d well in all 7, although it would have to do somting to beat the RL-15 lloads for my .308 and good ol IMR 4350in the 06s ...tj3006

H-414 is an excellent powder with the 130's in a .270win! Try 52.5 to 54grs, should be able to do better than 3100fps in a 24" barrel, and most guns I've shot could get 1/2" groups. You might try Win LR primers, or CCI-250 magnums.
