Has anyone had any luck with loading the 30 carbine in a blackhawk at low velocity using a cast bullet? I've had good luck and accuracy with it at full house loads and cast gas check 115 gr bullets and with 110 gr jacketed bullets, but I am trying to find a load at around 900 fps for small game with 90, 105, or 115 gr cast. Any good advice will be welcome. "An armed man is a citizen, an unarmed man is a slave", Ceasar

I use 5.0 gr. of Unique with a 115 gr. cast bullet,(Lyman #311316) velocity unknown. I'm guessing it's a mite faster than what you're looking for so try starting at about 3.0 gr. of Unique and work up. I don't think I'd want to go past the 5.0 gr. load though as pressure might jump up quickly with that powder. The load sure does a number on jack rabbits though. Paul B.
