Hello

I am new to this forum and have been reloading for about 6 months.

I would like to try some 150gr remington accutips.

The powders that I have are Retumbo, IMR 4350 and reloader 17.

Could anyone provide me with min and max loads for the powders
or
a source for load data with remington bullets, I can't seem to find anything online.

Thanks!

The first place to start is with a 160 grain partition. If you want lighter bullets, use a 270.

Secondly, the 7m/m Remington magnum is one of those funky cartridges that might do just as well with a medium burning powder as it does with a slow one. You'll not know unless you experiment, and H4831 is a great place to start.

I would suggest that the IMR 4350 would be a good place to start. I'd probably start at around 59g of IMR 4350 and work up. What your rifle likes and shoots well will matter most.

I have not loaded the Accutip bullets, but have used multiple types of 150's with success in the past.

You can sort out specific use or premium loads later on.

Enjoy,

Dan

My accuracy load for the 7mm Mag is 150 grain Partitions, 63.5 grains of H-4831SC, and Federal 210 primers. I don't use Magnum Primers for my 7mm Mag.
The above load is a 3 shot, 1/2" group at 100 yards load.

I used to use H4831sc in my 7mag util I tried IMR7828. It works for me with bullet weights of 140, 160 and 175.

I'll disagree, if you want to shoot 160's (or heavier) buy a 30cal.

The 7mmMag will do anything it can reasonably be expected to do with the proper 140gr bullet.
But 150gr is ok if you are more cautious.

Personally I think if you are going to buy a7mmMag there is no point in loading it to do things a 30-06 can do as well.

Frankly if I want to shoot 160gr bullets ar 3000fps I'll take my 30-06 loaded to that speed with 165's

As for the 7mmMag and loading for it?
Frankly I think loading for the 7mmMag begins and ends with propellants like IMR4831, H4831 and especially RL22

a mnear maximum charge of RL22 behind a 140gr nosler partition, accubond or a Barnes TTSX will do anything one could rationally expect a 7mm cartridge to do.

For years, I've loaded 63g Imr 4831 and 150g Nos Par w/ Fed 215 pr. It shoots very well out of a pre Garcia Sako. It does not get near the vel claimed in the manuals, but has been deadly. 61g Imr 4350 should get you similar results.

I use HC4831 a lot, like IMR7828 better. It might be all in my head, but I think the recoil feels different from 7828.
