I bought a new #3 RCBS shell holder & started having issues right off the bat. After a close examination I found that the cut for the case was not made deep enough.
The cases primer holes were way off center in the shell holder. Actually the edge of the primer holes were right in line with the edge of the hole in the center of the shell holder! Roll Eyes
Screwed up a bunch of primer before I found the problem. Mad Switched back to an old holder & everything was fine.

So much for QC at RCBS nowdays I guess. Roll Eyes

Just another reason to start buying more Redding stuff!

give rcbs a call, they will make it right.
they are the number one ,right now, across the board. as far as lowest initial production issues and quickest customer satisfaction.
this includes cast bullet molds and die sets.
i know it's a 10 dollar item but call and see.

Just because 1 shell holder doesn't work for you, then logic says the whole RCBS line is lousy? C'mon, gimme a break here!! Contact RCBS & they'll make it good - easy as that.

Yes, RCBS will indeed make it good. AAMOF they've been correcting their continuing errors for almost 50 years now that I know of, 'cause that's how long ago I began using their stuff.

Those continuing experiences are the reason that RCBS is now my LAST choice in reloading gear.

Well I must be one old lucky SOB. I've used RCBS for 40yrs. Bet there are about 20 RCBS die sets including some custom upstairs now. Only time I've ever had a problem and had to contact them was when I screwed one of their items up. Then they were kind enough to correct my screwup at their expense.

As usual just my $.02

RCBS has IMMHO good quality, and excellent customer service. I can't complain about any of their products and do own quite a lot of them now.

They seem to follow a similar, customer focussed approach comparable to Ruger.

On average, I've not found RCBS dies/shellholders, etc, to be any better or worse than any other brands, including Hornady, Lyman and Lee. And their "premium" dies and presses are not up to those from Redding and Forster.

It is nice to get replacement parts so quickly and easily tho (Wonder why they need to do that so often?). But it often goes unnoticed that others also stand behind their products quite well.
