My Hornady tumbler is on its last leg. Wondering what you guys are using and how you like em?

And I guess its time to get a seperator as well. Please let me know what you are using.

I am using the big Dillons but also have a Vibra Shine 18 (made by Thumblers)

If it was my Hornady tumbler I'd give Hornady a call and tell them about it. Yo never know they might send you a new one.

Been using Midway's for the last 15yrs or so. No problems.

Been using the small Dillon since the first year they offered the "small" sized tub. It's at least 10 years old, probably closer to 15.

I do regularly run it overnight, and I have left in on for a couple of days at a time, a time or two, when I've forgotten to go out to the shop and turn it back off.

I've been very pleased with it, and if it died tomorrow, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the exact same model again.

I'm using the RCBS "gold pan" sifter/strainer with mine. It works OK and I'm used to it. I haven't tried the "squirrel cage" media separator that Dillon markets.

im using the cabelas model had it for 8-10 months now. ive tumbled several thousand cases with it so far and it has worked well. for the price (think i paid $54.99 on sale) it seemed like the best deal when i was looking for one. it comes with corn cob, polish and sifter tray. i picked up one of the frankfor arsenal little hamster wheel looking things that allows you to pour everything in and rotate it over a bucket works VERY well on rifle cases. the first batch of 223 i tumbled i decided right then and there that there had to be a better way of seperating the cases from the media.

I've got a Lyman 600 that's been upgrade with about another 4 bowls (tubs?) mostly of the 1200 ilk. It stays on about 3-4 days a week and that for the past 12-13 years (Dunno?).

Can't compalin at all especially since Lyman is usally the first to come on line with a 220 volt appliance for what ever new "Thingie" is on the market.

RCBS Sidewinder Case Tumbler.

Pros; quiet, can be use with a liquid, if it breaks down RCBS is very generous with repairs.

Cons: Outrageously expensive, extra drums ridiculously over priced.

Been using my Lyman 2200 Auto Flo for about 12 years now, many times run all nite long with way too many cases in it. Still runs just fine. Some people don't like the Auto Flo, but personally I do, works great for me. I always run treated cob first, drain, then run plain cob and don't have to remove the brass inbetween with the Auto Flo.

I just got the stainless steel media for my old thumlers tumbler. It performs as advertised. Slow speed model of the tumbler. 4 hours on AR fired .223 PPC brass = clean primer pockets, clean interior case and like new outside. First really clean primer pockets I have ever gotten with a machine. rc

I used a Midway one ( also sold as the Frankfurt Arsenal) for years.. it went south, and they replaced it at no charge..

then a friend told me that they had a recall on them.. due to electrical problems with a fire potential... so I called them and they told me to keep my old one or throw it away.. and they sent me a replacement at No charge..

while in between, tumblers I felt I needed to have a 'just in case' back up... So I saw the features on the one Cabelas offers with their label on it.. and it seemed to have nice features.. so I ordered one of those for $44 at the time..

I got it and I was delighted.. the first thing you notice when running is that it is a million times quieter than the one from Midway...

I also like the clear top to it...

plus it has a larger capacity and a very large top for loading and unloading it..

so the two Midways I have for back up sit waiting for just that type of service.. (collecting dust for the last 3 years) while the Cabelas one sits getting all dusty from Walnut media use.. and just hums away all night quite frequently in the garage without a care in the world..

I've used the Midway vibrating case cleaner for about 2 decades along with their brand of case separator. Both styles are long discontinued but they still give good service. Sorry, I cannot make a recommendation on what's currently available.

BTW, this type of tumbler, when using either walnut or corncob is pretty quiet in operation.

The real noisy operation comes from bullets bouncing around inside the plastic bowl when molycoating.

I have three tumblers. An RCBS, Midway Frankfort and a Cabela's(Berry's).
The RCBS is fast and very loud, works well.

The Midway is slow, not to loud and slow. Did I mention it was slow?

The Cabela's is fast, very fast and very quiet. I like it, it is the best of the three and the least expensive. I also like the fact that it comes with a clear top and a big ass knob with lock nut instead of those tiny little wing nuts that always seem run away when I'm not looking.
