its actually for a friend who is an armourer in the spanish army, so i am not sure quite what he is doing, i guess he has the pistol if he is asking me to find loads for him. i'll ask and report back. He has not asked me to find brass or dies so i am not sure.

butch

it is my understanding that round is built off of the 221fb case, once you have dies it shouldn't be too hard to push the shoulder back and trim to length.
lots of work though. that round, as far as i'm concerned has not lived up to it's expectations and thats why there is a lack of interest. when it first came out it was said to have the penetrating capabilities of a lazer beam blah, blah. didn't happen and what it ended up as was a half of a fireball in a auto pistol. it would do what it was proposed to do with the right bullet,,,,,but that bullet is only available to the military and police. so essentially it is now a 22 hornet.

thanks, but you haven't been involved in reloading in Spain i guess..we can't even get powder and primers here, i have to buy from france, uk, germany or andorra! god alone knows where i'd find 221 fb !!!! Confused doubt it has even been heard of in Spain! i doubt if there is even a single rifle in spain in that calibre (although i stand to be corrected!) it certainly is not offered in any listing i have ever seen here. If we get this sorted i'll post it here of course.

no probs me RECEIVING from US, but i believe now that ANY value of gun-related items for export FROM US needs an export licence. i might try in the UK, but since they pretty well don't have pistols there....

sorry, in my previous post about importing, i meant brass, bullets etc! Any ammo imported into Spain has to be 'homologado' which means someone has to be be paid large amounts of money to issue some bulls**t certificate that it is ok, as if the idiots here now more about it than the manufacturers! Even a reloading press needs this, if you buy a legal one !

Reading stuff like this makes me wonder how Americans can possibly gripe about the trials and tribulations of reloading and shooting in this country. We gripe because we have to pay some idiotic (there-- I just did it myself!) $20 haz-mat fee over the actual cost of the merchandise. You poor buggers in Europe have so many roadblocks to enjoying your sport it makes me wonder why you even try. But then, we are shooters, so we endeavour to persevere. My hat is off to you over there.

i don't even want to tell you the price of powder in the UK!
Vihtavuori n 165 per kg 55.95
Vihtavuori n 310/320/330/340/350/3n37/3n38 per 500g 30.95
Vihtavuori n 530/540/550/560 61.95
Vihtavuori n110/120/130/133/135/140/150/160 per kg 52.95

And that is in UK Stirling, not USD!
