Looking for sugeestions to reload 9mm on the cheap. By this I mean less than $8.00 per 50 rounds. I'd probably need a multi-stage reloader and all the components, What would you guys suggest? Thanks.

I use a lee pro 1000 but I think now I would by their load master instead.

I buy powder by the 8 lb keg and the cheapest bullets by the thousands I can buy primers in 5000 case lots.

I haven't priced bullets lately but I sure you can still load it for around 5 bucks a box or less.

How many rounds a week are you planning on loading? If cheap is important look into casting your own bullets too, and pick a powder like bullseye that uses a low charge weight.

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

like mark says - cast your own bullets, but in 9mm make sure you cast them hard or you'll spend all night cleaning the lead out of the barrel. otherwise $16/c isn't cheap. you can use plated bullets and still beat that price

Given good cast bullets from someone like Colorado Cast Bullets ( http://www.sanjuanrange.com/ccb_prices.htm ) and a load of 4.8 gr of Win 231 9mm ammo is cheap.

At $56/k for either 115s or 125g + $9 for shipping, primers at $25/k and Win 231 at $20/pound ... it costs 10.4 cents per round to load the stuff on your brass. Cost for primers and powder are about what I pay locally. You can do better at http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/ but you have to pay hazardous shipping. That makes economic sense if you're going to do a lot of reloading.

9mm brass is available cheap from a number of surplus places. It lasts a number of firings. Glocks are harder on brass than other pistols I have found.

Buy a decent press ... and amortize the cost over a large number of rounds.

Thanks for the comments. I'd probably only shoot 200 rounds per outting which might be only once per month. Is it worth reloading for this number. P dog mentioned the Lee Loadmaster. Anyone else agree? What are other alternatives.
Thanks for taking your time to respond to my post.

FOr 200rds a month, a Lee turret press would do fine. Don't buy the kit, the scale & measure are crap. You can load about 150rds/hr on a turret once you have figured everything out. At current prices, you can do jacketed for about $5.25/50. Buy commercial cast lead bullets & you can get down below $4.50/50.
