Up until lately I was not able to get these powders but they are now within my reach. I don't see quite as much data for these powders so I wonder how good they are as far as temp. stability, clean burning and how easily they work in multiple cases. I reload for: .270 Win .223 rem .220 swift 30-06 6.5x55 32 special .303 brit. 45-70 .416 Taylor .44mag shotguns

I use them in some applications. I've never gotten quite as much MV out of XMR4350 as I do from H4350. I use AA9 exclusively for my 41 Mag, and AA5 for my wife's 38 Spl. These powders do not have the temperature stability that Hodgdon advertises, but, then, neither does Hodgdon. Hodgdon powders are usually better in this respect than most others, but not nearly as good as they would like you to believe. In my 223, Varget is LESS temperature stable than the inexpensive Winchester mil ammo, but in my 308, Varget is dead stable with temperature. In my Finn M39, the tempco for H4350 is almost identical with IMR 4350.

My first and probably last excursion into AA powders was AA1680. YUK!

I use AA1680 in my 7,62x39 with 125gr Sierra's. Great accuracy and vel. I am also using AA 4064 and 2230 in my 7mm-08 and MagPro in my 300WSM, I like what I have tried so far.

I've had very decent results with the AA l680, and 4350. The best was in the '06 for regulation as it is a double rifle. The AA1680 I used in the .22 hornet and the 7.62 x 39 with great success. Each powder ahs a specific application for which it will be best at, for some it is as lawn fertilizer.

I bought about 5 lbs of mag rifle powder one sale real cheap once, think I paid 5 buck a pound at a sporting goods store going out of business a few yrs back. Mag Rifle is about like 4831. It shot fine, but seemed to lack vel, not that it mattered. I used it many differnt guns, it worked fine. I shot it all up and havent bought any more, not unless I could get it that cheap again.

AA #5 is probably my most favorite 45 ACP powder. I also used it loading deer slugs last year but it is so fine that I was noticing that quite a bit of it would work its way around the shot cup (the hulls were translucent and it was noticeable if you held them to the light). So I am going to switch to a bulkier powder this year for slugs. For handguns I have no complaints though.

The only AA powder I have tried is Magpro. It is a PITA, very messy, and did not perform well in my loads. YMMV, but I can't recommend it.
