IMR 4064 is a good powder with a 150 gr. class bullets in the 300 WSM. I used 59.1 gr. of IMR 4064 ignited by a Fed. 210M primer behind a 155 gr. Sierra Palma bullet and got very good accuracy out to 1000 yards in my F Class rifle with a velocity of 3210 avg. fps out of a 26" Lilja barrel. I use VithaVouri N550 with 175 to 180 gr. bullets with excellent results as well. Again I use the Fed. 210M primer with this powder. Other powders to look at with the 150 gr. class of bullets is IMR 4350, H4350 EXT, and VithaVouri N540. While I am not a big fan of the RL series of powders I know they do work in the WSM. If you are interested in a load with a light bullet try H4350 EXT. behind a 125 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip. The load data came straight out of the 5th edition Sierra manual and it is fast and accurate. A good friend of mine has a Win. Coyote that shots that bullet and powder combination consistently in the .5's at 3550 avg. fps. Talk about devastation on a coyote with that load. It has to be seen to be believed. As with all loads, work up to them. None of the powder, primer, bullet combinations shown any signs of pressure in the rifles they were shot in. Hope this helps some.....

I have a stainless A-bolt that loves the 150g TSX, pushed with 71.5gr of IMR4831, under moa. I have not put a chrony on them, but this will be my load in Alberta this year. Always 2 holes!

I don't have a Tikka, but I do have a browning with a 23'' barrel. I have shot 150 gr partitions and Ballistic Tips's with 58.5 gr of IMR 4064 and I get about 3050 (this isn't a max load) They shoot about 1 inch or better. I get good accuracy with 180 gr NP's and 69.0 gr or Re22 as well if you want a really potent load.

Been working up some load for one going to try H-4350 this coming week and check velocity. Groups have been good but velocity has been on the slow side with 180 gr bullet have been comparing to a custom 300wsm I also use. Will be testing some 165 gr bullets. So far have tried R-19 and 22,760 and V165. I just got acouple shots off with H-4350 last weekend before it rained had three shoot touching. I just need to find a spare magazine.

I'm getting 3061fps with H-4350 and 165 gr bullet so pretty happy. Since were getting close to deer & elk season I'm just going to stay with H-4350 and do some fine tuning and may try a 150/180 gr also.
