I have been handloading for 22 years And i know primers make a differents in accurace. Question? will a mag. primer stretch a non mag. case faster than a standered primer. my .260 rem. and my 7-08 rem love CCI 250 primers with RL-15 and they are very accurate.

Only if it raises the pressure, say your load is max. & you sub a magnum primer. Could raise the pressure emough to start a problem. I find Fed210M primers to be as hot as some mag. primers based on chronographed vel. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

The 250 CCI primer isn't much more "hotter" than the 200 primer, slightly less than the Federal 210 primer, actually. FWIW, My 708 loves the 200 primer and 9 1/2 with Varget and RE15, respectively. Jay

I've worked up loads with standard primers and then reworked the same loads with magnum primers.....always to the same amount of powder.....and I've done this several times. Frankly I don't see any difference in rifle primers at all....standard vs magnum... I can't say this for shotshell primers however. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
