| Thanks for sharing. That's a really, really nice group.
I've shot some 5 shot groups I've been happy with if for no other reason than it tells me I actually can align the stars perfectly once in awhile.
I see my own (seldom-achieved) accuracy-success as motivation to keep striving.
Good for you! Keep it up! |

Groups just fine for 168-grain TTSX, X, Nosler HPBT, etc. all with the same charge. Just this once, with AMAX I can say at last "they fit inside a penny" one time. Eight more ready for next time, then I can go through the rest of 100 bullets and a pound of powder whenever.

After my f-i-l shot a tiny group of four, he just had to shoot the fifth -- which "flew". I suspect, since I am not a competitive shooter, the same will happen to me when I attempt/ shoot for some duplicates. Thanks!!

For hunting I wouldn't try and do it again, 99% of hunting kill success comes down to absolute confidence in your ammo, gun and sights, and I would walk from the range feeling super confident with that. Whether I can duplicate that in the field is all down to me, but I would know that my tools are capable of it. That group is perfect and so is the position of it looking about 3" above the point of aim. So many show pictures of great groups but they are often nowhere near a point of aim where you need them for hunting, I presume they do actually get round to doing the most important bit before they go out on an animal |

| Well, since AMAX bullets are target bullets, and not for hunting, the OP is not finished with that rifle if it is intended for hunting. Nice group though, and the fifth one that went out of the hole, was not you; it was just the way rifles are. (AMAX bullets are thin jacketed target bullets and will blow up on game; might work on a deer or varmints) But I am sure you know that. |

My post was more a generic comment irrespective of what bullet is being used. We can often sit at a range all day and not duplicate our first or earliest group and then go away with doubts as to just how good is the load rather than recognising it being most likely the shooter that has gone off. Leave the range with a group like the OPs and you're 99% there. The old saying "quit while the goings good" BTW many do use Amax's very successfully for our deer, chamois and tahr here. Comes down to confidently placing the bullet where it should be placed and accuracy of the load sure helps with that. |

| I also shoot a group without letting the barrel cool in between. And, rested off bench seats atop the bench so I can get behind the gun. Would bet a younger-eyed person could do a BUNCH mo bettah. BTW, I have two kudu, a mountain reedbuck, plus, plus taken with 180-grain load at distance. When I have missed, it was me not the 721. AMAX for target accuracy has some fans as a "hunter", too. I have Barnes' for that now. Just a pig in a pasture so far with 168's. Cheers!

Similar loads (other 168's) are 2800/2900 fps. Will rechrony when I shoot the last eight.

| Do believe I can repeat the OP pics' result by the 20th shot -- properly dirtied up by then. Looks righteous to me, fellers. Cheers!
