Bill I will reload this caliber very soon.I will try 150 grs Hornandy Interlock(3031) with H-4831sc,after four reloading season(Fall) no good accuracy with this caliber,I try a lot of different bullets,Hodgdon powders, primers nothing seems to group.I have enlarged the muzzle break.I will keep the subject on;seems as this caliber is very difficult to reload...

rejpelly..........i have had pretty good luck with 180 grain Hornady bullets loaded to about 3260fps. i just happended on this stock pile of 250 grain bullets and i wanted to try them. it seems to me that this cartridge should do things with the really heavy bullet that other cartridges cannot. good luck with you lighter weight bullets.

I've been loading for this calliber for two years now, and have had decent luck with it. I've tried various 180gr bullets, the 190gr Interlock, and various 200gr bullets. With these bullets I've tried slow burners like H-870, H-5010, RL-22,H-1000, IMR7828, and H-4831. I,ve settled on the 200gr Nosler Part, with 114grs H-870, Fed-215, and Weath case. Vel runs 3246 ft/sec and accuracy is 1.200" at 100 yds. I've found that only the really slow burners work in this calliber. H-4831, and IMR-7828, work OK with the lighter bullets, but are a little too fast with the 200 grainers. I've never used the 260gr Barnes.

I am reloading this caliber right now with 150 grs interlock Hornandy(3031),H-4831sc with acceptable grouping(1 MOA).I changed primers federal 215 with CCI 250,the feds were too hard to go in. The rcbs full sizer die doesnt work properly, crash every cases ,( below the shoulder of the case, everyone of them has crushed areas and I have to put too much pressure on the cases to get them chamber correctly).I use a neck sizer die to get the job done. The f/l sizer die push the shoulder back too much causing this problem..I play with C.O.L. (3.615 inch) and get acceptable group.I think the rifle is capable shooting .5 MOA,I shoot two rounds and let 10 or so minutes to get the barrel cold down.Keep you informed soon...

I went shooting with no good result, one group hit.5MOA,the next ones 2.5MOA,(4 RELOADS) after 5 years of reloading this caliber, one time I get below 1MOA.Cannot f/L the fired cases, almost all of them are crushed below the shoulder, neck sizer I can get 2 shoots more or less accurate.( 1MOA-1.5MOA.I cannot get(CONSISTANT LOADS)...

Something I forgot to mention earlier is that when I switched from Fed 215's to CCI-250, I would get short duration hang fires. I remember reading Ken Waters pet loads where he tested the 270 Weath mag many years ago and had the same problem. He stated that Weatherby recomends the Fed 215, as they were developed with the Weatherby mags in mind.
