For which one??? The 7mm/.223 and 7 TCU are not the same. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

Well Van, I can provide several good 7TCU loads, but keep in mind they were developed for silhouette shooting, not hunting. (I shoot these in TC Contenders.) My all time favorite 7TCU load uses a Rem 7 1/2 primer behind 26 grains of H 4895 and a 154 grain Hornady Spire Point. In my 10 inch barrel this gives about 1750 fps and good groups. I have fired over 6000 of these loads in my 10 inch barrel and it still shoots well. In my 14 inch barrel this load gives about 1900 fps. Another top load consists of a CCI 400 primer behind 22 grains of N 130 powder and a Sierra 150 grain Matchking bullet. Velocities are 1734 from the 10 inch and 1872 from the 14 inch barrel. This load is a little more accurate than the first and is milder to shoot. I probably should switch to this for competition, but have LOTS of H 4895 and Hornady 154's to shoot up. Another milder recoiling load is 19 grains of H 4198 behind the 154 Hornady. This is my load for the standing event in IHMSA competition. It gives about 1550 fps in the 10 inch barrel. Finally, a friend used to use a 14 inch TC barrel in what is known as Unlimited Standing. You need a mild recoiling load for this event. His favorite load was 14 grains of H 4227 behind a 145 grain Speer bullet. Velocity in a 14 inch barrel is about 1440 fps. If I had to recommend a "starting" load for a 7TCU it would be 24 grains of H 4895 behind any good 150 to 154 grain bullet. R Flowers
